Position: Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
Location: Onsite (Chesterfield, VA)

Job Description: Work with students in Kindergarten-12th grade. Provide direct instruction services for braille, tactile symbols, and assistive technology. Contribute to the development of IEP's, collaborate with other service providers, and attend meetings.
Hours: Full-time, 30-35 hours per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday, with some flexibility in scheduling
As a Teacher of the Visually Impaired, you will have the opportunity to support and empower students with visual impairments through innovative instruction in a supportive onsite environment.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of students with visual impairments.
Provide direct instruction and support to students in person.
Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the best educational outcomes for students.
Utilize assistive technology and resources to enhance learning experiences for students with visual impairments.
Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed to meet individual goals.
Maintain accurate and confidential records related to student progress and IEP documentation.
Stay current with best practices and research in special education and visual impairment to provide high-quality instruction.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Visual Impairment, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Current Louisiana teaching license with endorsement in Visual Impairment or eligibility for licensure.
Experience working with students with visual impairments is preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, families, and colleagues in an onsite setting.
